Jesse Is this your first foray into the world of Mishima? I haven't read Sailor yet, but I have a copy. Since you seem to be enjoying them, don't stop until you dig into the Sea of Fertility books (if you haven't already)...

Stephen True, it was. Staggeringly beautiful. I came to Mishima via the movie. Have you seen it? If not, cue it up.

Sailor is amazing. I'm mulling whether it's a 5-star book, to be honest. Maybe Mishima's weird politics are the hang-up preventing it from going over to classic status.

Jesse His politics are mad weird! But I think part of the pleasure of reading him is the tension between feeling it and feeling alienated by it. The Sea of Fertility books take the politics and the beauty up a notch, I think.

I actually have the movie from netflix on my shelf right now- gonna watch it soon...
