For the last 5 years the newest book has come out just before my birthday so my husband knows just what to get me. Funny thing is most years I forget all about it and then I am so excited for my book. I get such a kick out of this series. Each time I get a new book I reread all the books in the series before reading the newest one.

The series has Harry Potter like elements with magic and wizards and a young male hero but is not so dark and a very different writing style. There isn't really one big evil throughout all the books so much as a threat that must be conquered each time. Likable characters and good fun!

I enjoy the writing and the plot twists and turns. I recommend this fun easy-read series to anyone, young and old.
