Few authors can evoke emotion from sadness and sorrow to unadulterated hope like James Frey can. Pared to the visceral, the raw emotion Frey demonstrates through his writing is capable of drawing the reader into sadness and love in parallel.
For all those concerned with exaggerated elements and would have preferred My Friend Leonard to be sold as fiction, I say, so the fuck what. I find it hard to believe that you are otherwise concerned with the correct dewey decimal numbers on your book shelf. Learn to appreciate books for the stories they hold, not the labels they show.
