I listened to this one, and it is totally captivating. Didn't think I'd like a book on Vietnam, but this one is special. The politics of war reflect the politics of politics -- disgusting, to me. All decision made at the top influenced by how those deciding will be promoted or not promoted, not influenced one iota by those doing the heavy lifting.

The narration by Branson Pinchot is IMPECCABLE. He's spot on with ALL the accents, and this book is chock-a-block full of characters -- so much so, that the preface is an org chart detailing who works for whom in the Fifth Marine Division -- most of whom, I assume, are fictional names. Is there a/was there a General Nitzer?

Anyway, one of those Audible 3-part books that you hate to take time to sleep since it means an interruption in the story. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
