I didn't think Enna was that great until i got through the fourth Bayern book and realized that #2 was the high point of the series for me.
In comparison, Enna is more thoughtfully crafted than 3 & 4, with more emotional depth than 1.
I didn't really like skipping from Isi's perspective in one to Enna's in the next, because I suddenly felt like I didn't recognize Isi. Kind of the same in the next books, too, when the characters are still there but you aren't in their heads anymore, and they feel
estranged. It created an awkward disconnect for the series as a whole. But in terms of narratives, Enna's was definitely the strongest.
