Storm Warning is book number 9 in the 39 Clues series. The Cahill kids, Amy and Dan, and their au pair, Nellie, go to the Caribbean in search of a clue left by Anne Bonny, the notorious pirate. I was delighted with the descriptions of the people and places that the kids encountered in the Bahamas and Jamaica. Along the way, the kids face betrayal, find a long-lost relative, and find out what exactly it means to be a Madrigal (a misunderstood and hated branch of the Cahill family). I really liked this installment. The talk about the pirates and the Caribbean was fun. My son learned a lot while reading this with me, which is what parent-child reading is supposed to be all about. The ending came as a complete surprise, and now we're anxiously awaiting the next - and by all accounts the last - installment of the series.
