Creepy. Gothic. Suspenseful. And very, very well researched, this is a totally different take on vampires than what the fans of Rice or Meyer's beautiful boys will be used to. Good, I say. Put this in their hands and let young adults know that not all vampires are gorgeous and oh-so sensitive. It is important for them to learn that these stories spring from history, and why the monsters were so feared by the people of the time.
