I enjoyed this novel much more than I first thought I would. I feared the plot would be too complex, but it was not. The idea of bad angels/hybrid humans - Nephilim was interesting, there were certainly echoes of Kate Mosse, Dan Brown, and Stephanie Meyer, with the Nephilim living so long and being super natural, also the quest for the lyre a religious instrument/artefact of much value, and on finding it is part of the plot. I feel some descriptions were deliberately written with making a film of this novel in mind, rather than leaving soe things up the reader's imagination.
