Abby Clark is a punk rock back-up singer with what is sure to be the worst luck ever. After being dropped into the middle of nowhere, Wyoming, with no money and no clothes, Abby takes a job as a ranch cook to earn enough cash to make it back to L.A. Even though she's experiencing the biggest culture shock of her life, she never once thought she'd grow to love the people who accepted her into their world, despite her clueless and clumsy ways. Now if only she could get the grouchy Joe Baer to feel the same for her as the rest of the townspeople.

Debut author Linda McMaken shines with her contemporary romance set in the plains of Wyoming, where the snow falls harder than a cowboy off a bull. Abby and Joe are the very definition of "opposites attract", with Abby as the inept vegetarian, and Joe the brooding cowboy. The chemistry between them starts as a slow flame that gradually builds up to a four-alarm fire of passion, making the progress of their relationship more believable. The pacing of the story is top-notch, and there is an abundance of conflict, which will keep readers turning the page. As the first book in the Three Baers series, Baer Truth is as clever as its title, with Joe Baer starring as the hero that is just right for Abby.
