I found this book very intriguing and the clarity fierce. I love her use of metaphors, language, and even her cracks at jokes about the serious topics she tells us about. It is sad in some places and a bit depressing, but I always find light within these type of novels, especially with ones like these that account for how she managed to get out of the institution and how some did not. And she did and that is all that counts (she becomes enlightened, in a sense).
