Ghost Story (The Dresden Files, #13)

My hubby who got to this before me subtitled Ghost Story, "Harry Takes a Dirt Nap" :) Ghost Story was an oddly paced book, and without the forknowledge that there was an interesting twist(the hubby restrained himself from saying more than that), I wouldn't have given up, but I'd have probably put this down for a bit about halfway through before finishing.
There is a lot of introspection here on Harry's part as he learns how to function in his new role, because 'life' has definitely changed for Harry, as you'll know if you've read the previous book (or the backcover blurb, or my review title - darn it I was trying not to be too spoilery). Consequently, first half of the book feels kind of like a TV clip show - a fair amount of revisiting Harry's past in bits and pieces threaded together with some new stuff.
When Harry finally figures out how to excersize his power, the action picked up significantly and I like this part of the story, which felt more like what I'd expect from a 'Dresden' story. I am not going to say much about the ending or the twist (so no hint of spoilers) other that to say both of these parts were pretty much a combination of 'aha' and 'I knew it'.
Bottom line? As a Harry fan, I wouldn't have missed this episode, and now it remains to be seen where Butcher takes this series next.
