So this book was OK. It got lots of great reviews, but when it came down to it, it was just to choppy for me. It was a very personal memoir mostly of the author's mother, from Skye to Zambia, via Kenya and Rhodesia. I though it would be able to relate to it, but i didn't. The writing jumped around a lot in obscure ways to the mother's relatives and wasn't always sequential in annoying ways. There was a good (sad) story in here, but I think it was obscured by the style.
