** spoiler alert ** This is of corse, a spin-off from The Chronicles of Vladamir Todd. And I really enjoyed it. It was nice to get a more complete background of Joss. Why he hates vampires so much and it was really interesting to see how the Slayer Society trains and actually brainwashes their slayers. After reading the Todd series, we know that not ALL vampires are evil. Only some are evil, just like some himans are evil. The only comment that I might make is that maybe Brewer should have said that Slayers have a genetic ablilty that helps them heal faster than normal humans, they are already more physically capiable than others. Joss really get's the crap beat out of him several times, and day after day after day. And he's 13 years old. It would take even a perfectly healthy full grown athelete a couple of days to recover from some of the beatings that Joss had to endure. Other than that, I loved the charachter, and a few of the other slayers and Kat. I am anxious to see if she comes back as a vampire for revenge. The next book "Second Chance" comes out in October and I can't wait to read it. This was a very Goodread! : )
