I rarely leave remarks for books that I bail on early, but this one held such promise ... and just plain failed. I truly suspect glowing reviews must be from the author's friends, but not quite a one-star as folks who can get past Barker's self-absorbed whining might get something out of it.

Kay I had this on my audiobook wishlist but had reservations about it. You've confirmed my worst apprehensions. It did sound promising, didn't it? My current beef is with publishing hype. It seems more thought goes into coming up with an appealing title and jacket design than in the actual contents of the book these days.

John The reason I stayed with it as long as I did was Potter's narration, but when I found myself resisting returning to the book, I knew it was time to pull the plug.
