This is the best Nightside novel in recent years; Taylor doesn't seem quite so invincible, and several new characters and settings are introduced, including a return visit to Taylor's London origins. At the same time, many of the old, familiar characters and places are revisited, and due to some genuine changes they were more interesting and seemed fresher. I believe Green is setting up for a fine conclusion to the series.
