What a fun book this is. There’s just enough humor interspersed throughout combined with the action to make this a quick read where you’ll laugh out loud quite a bit. The rest of the time you’re just chuckling. Well, at least when you’re not cheering the hero on to kick the villain’s ass, that is.

Adrian is happy as can be in his single status; he doesn’t need the mating bliss his two best friends have recently found. Sheri doesn’t want a mate either but for very different reasons. She’s on the run from a wolf who abused her and then savagely attacked her. She’s come back to the Halle Pumas for protection. Denying Adrian is her mate is the only way she can keep him safe from the rabid wolf who wants her for his own only because she got away.

This big, bad kitty is not about to let her go, however, now that he’s admitted Sheri is his mate. So the loving and the fighting are on. The scenes between Adrian and Sheri go from tender to hot in 4.2 seconds. The action is just as fast when Sheri is kidnapped and Adrian and his pride, with the help of the local wolf pack, are not far behind. The ensuing shapeshifting and fight bring everything to a satisfying end.

I enjoyed all the characters in this book, so much so that I’m going to be buying the first two books in the series very soon. We get a nice setup at the end between the Alpha Wolf and Belle, a puma, for the next book in the series, and it sounds like it’s going to be one heck of a time.
