This is by far one of Patterson's superior works. I love the way the story flows and how he never fails to surprise. The plot consistently counteracts itself with twists and turns and therefore provides you with the sail of a lifetime. I found the characters to be very dynamic and real, people that I could relate to, and I also felt that this was very unique in comparison to anything he's ever done. Then again, Patterson always seems to manage to concoct something new no matter how many novels he has written, which isn't always easy to do in his usual genre. I have read some reviews that complain about the ending, how he jumps from the island to the courtroom, and I do tend to agree with that being a slight problem, but I didn't think that the problem was serious enough to ruin the entire novel. Overall, I found this to be a great read and is most definitely one of my favorite Patterson novels to date.
