A great continuation of the Pern saga. This book picks up where Renegades of Pern left off, following the discovery of Aivas. Through information gained from the AI the Pernese begin to discover science and technology long forgotten. This does cause some cultural difficulties as some brand Aivas "the abomination"
The book also follows the plan to rid Pern of Thread forever. A great read!
