Mind of the Raven: Investigations and Adventures with Wolf-Birds

This a priori naturalist does back flips in order to defend the neural basis of consciousness:
" The neural circuits traverse a labyrinthine jungle of inconceivable micro-anatomical complexity with almost unlimited possibility for input to affect the loops, and it is in this arrangement of neurons and their circuits that consciousness resides."
Still, a great book.
