What a great read. My first time really digging into a historical narrative, but I must say I'm glad it was recommended to me. It gave me a truly personal inside look at what it was like to participate in the second World War. The immense suffering that the soldiers and their enemies where active participants in... I recommend this book to those who have a limited understanding of the war and view it as this distant almost perfect event that played out where we won and they lost. It was so much more than that. Hillenbrand has done her research and added quite a bit of personal flavor and it shows. Great read.
