*meh* This one felt forced. The League is an older series being republished, but this is a new installment to an old, finished series. Felt like extra money for the publisher and author to me. Granted, I've always like the Dark Hunters better, but this wasn't even up to par w/ the previous League books. Caillen is a wanted outlaw about to be executed, when *whoops* he's special. And all is forgiven - just like real life, right ; ) Then he sees the hot chick from across the room, who also SURPRISE!!! happens to be a kick ass badass and also a virgin. They need to be brought together, so there is the most convoluted assassination plot ever. And to make sure everyone is happy, there's a bit of characters from the previous books. It felt forced and empty. Didn't give two hoots about any of the characters and whether or not they lived from one battle to the next. Even the humor was forced, overboard, and never ending. Disappointed in Ms. Kenyon in this one.
