The text was very simple in this book, but I think that was part of its charm. It has beautiful illustrations evocative of the colors and plants that you see in Malaysia. The story was short and sweet, about playing with ladybugs, butterflies, and flowers in a garden. The Whirl Girl identified easily with the narrator and loved looking at the pictures.
