Ford County is a book of short stories written by John Grisham.

Those familiar with Grishams writing will recognize this southern location in Missisippi as it was referenced in a few of this other novels.

Grisham does a wonderful job of with his writing to make you feel at home in Ford County. If you have ever lived or worked in small town surrounded by a rural setting you might find Ford County similar.

The stories are engaging, and the characters quite colorful. Grisham is quite a story teller. If you would like to get away and go visit Ford County, it is as close as this book.

I must offer a warning. The stories are sometimes dark and do not end happily. The main characters are not the "hero" type and often have many flaws and not always likable.

The stories in Ford County are written with a sense of reality, where bad things do happen and people are people, warts and all.
