This was a hard one at first with the grief going on. But it turned out amazing, of course, again. BUT there was a problem.
I've listened to the audiobooks, read by Jim Marsters, from the beginning. This time it was read by John Glover because of a scheduling conflict with Marsters and it was just so totally wrong. It wasn't just because the difference in inflections or some minor changes in how the reader voiced different characters. Jim Marsters acted the book while reading. He was Harry, he was Bob, he was Michael... Glover just read the book and I can't imagine he even bothered to listen to the previous ones to try to keep some continuity. It fell completely flat. There was a huge backlash from fans & many of us have begged for a second release read by Marsters with no luck yet. I did finally stop the audiobook & went & got the ebook. Still, the book is a great addition to the series & I'm hating having to wait for the next one to be released.

2.0% "I've always listened to these on audiobook, read by James Marsters who truly acts instead of just reads the books. This one however, due to a conflict in Marsters' schedule, is read by John Glover. It's sooooo different, flatter, & w/out Harry Dresden's irreverent attitude that I couldn't suffer through much of it. I, as well as many fans, are hoping for a 2nd recording using Marsters. Still, can't wait to READ it!"
