really liked it
bookshelves: 2011, fairytale-and-retelling, love-the-cover, kindle, e-book
Read from July 29 to 31, 2011

It was quite a fast read for me, considering my average reading rhythm. The story is surely interesting, a modern retelling of Cyrano de Bergerac. For sure there are many books or movies that already told the same stories but it doesn’t make this book less charming. It’s such a page turner and so engaging.

I always like smart girl characters in a book and Sarah is one of them. I liked the fact that Sarah chooses to accept her flaw and go on with her life, making use of the strengths that she has. I also admired her loyalty to her best-friend but of course she does things that she really shouldn’t do to maintain her friendship.

The writing style is really attractive, not boring at all. It is simple, easy to understand. One more thing that I adored from this book is the quotes about beauty in every start of the chapter. They give insight to the readers about how true beauty should look like, so we know better how to appreciate it.
