This is a promising new voice in murder mysteries (two guys who write under each of their first names)--I do love the African setting (this is set in Botswana, with a black police detective who is both smart and likable--but also demonstrates common sense, and a willingness to bend to political realities, so he is believable as well), and the story is well woven, with some complexity to keep it interesting,a s well as a little bit of superstition, but not too much. Excellent debute, highly recommended for the genre, and I look forward to the next one.
