I bough this book when I was in Savannah, as it is a true story about the city and some of its residents in the eighties. The characters were very quirky, the story unfolded even when I wondered if it was just going to be a collection of disconnected character sketches. And since I had just recently visited the city, I could picture many of the places mentioned in the book. Even if you have never been to Savannah, I recommend this book, as it proves "truth is stranger than fiction".
