Enjoyable thriller/mystery featuring forensic anthropologist David Hunter. Although not the most exciting or engaging writing style, there was enough here to keep me interested in the story including several hard-to-spot twists and turns as to 'whodunnit', and a bleak setting conducive to tension and teasing plot-lines, though there's more focus on the interplay and relationships between characters rather than a forensic puzzle (which was what I'd expected) as with the Jefferson Bass series.

David Hunter is a character you want to sympathise with but sometimes comes across a little flat and humourless (though I'm guessing this might improve in future novels), still worth a read though, especially for police-procedural/thriller fans.
