I feel like I was a bit jipped with this book. It was ok but as I was reading it I felt like it could have been so much better. It's one of a series of books about Detective Alex Cross, and the people he was chasing in this book were criminals he'd dealt with in previous books. So while the story was good, I couldn't help but feel like a part of the intrigue and excitement was missing that I would have had if I'd already read the previous books. I have read James Patterson in the past and really enjoyed his books, so I'll probably go back to the beginning of the Alex Cross series and start from there, then re-read this and see if there is a different affect.
