A 3 of 5 star rating for the graphic novel (aka comic book) of Blood Work by Kim Harrison. This graphic novel is based on "The Hollows" series of novels by Harrison. Set in the time when two of the lead characters met (Rachel and Ivy), it setups their relationship which is progressed thru the Hollows series. I am a big fan of the Hollows series. I am not much of a fan of graphic novels. I started this novel with an open mind. I did enjoy the quality of the graphics and the high quality printed pages. Where the book lacked was in the story itself. While a graphic novel attempts to balance between the visual and the printed word, I believe this novel missed the right balance and when done I was feeling like there was a lack of a story. Certainly the story lacked depth that was not compenstated by the graphics. I would say the artist did capture my mind's eye for Rachel and Ivy. Overall, a mild recommendation.
