Outliers is an interesting look at the idea of success and the 'self-made man.' Ultimately Gladwell argues no one is entirely 'self-made,' because success relies both on talent and hard work as well as the opportunities and advantages available at the time. He writes well and presents facts and case studies in a way that keeps his book engaging even when citing statistics.

Outliers makes a great book group read, because there is plenty of information to discuss. In fact, I kept interupting Michael in his reading to share interesting points. I didn't agree with everything I read, but I enjoyed Gladwell's style and his interesting view of the world. I plan to read some of his other books as well.
