Okay, I was really looking forward to the follow up to Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer, which I thought was a very good book for young readers, and engaging for adults as well, with richly drawn characters, good plotting and strong potential for a series; however, for the sophomore effort, this one left me flat. The important issue raised within the book of neglectful parents was given a poor handling and not even mildy sensationalistically. Fairly lackluster performance from Grisham -- made me even question whether Grisham was actually writing. I hope future books involving Theodore Boone and a great cast of characters, brings more promising books from what was a great start, because frankly they and readers deserve a much better experience.
