Once again I found myself trudging through almost 300 pages of 'setting the scene', waiting to get to the story. This is starting to drive me away from these books. If the story wasn't as great as it is ONCE it gets started, I'd give up on this series... but once I get past the beginning I am always well and truly hooked.

I find myself missing the younger Claire and Jamie, and it's a bit of an odd shift now that they are becoming older and the story is obviously shifting towards their daughter Breanna and her love, Roger. Can they hold our attention like Claire and Jamie have? I really don't know, I guess I'll have to read further to find out.

I am taking a break from this series for a bit but I will no doubt return soon for book number six.
