A strategy guide from one of feudal Japans most legendary samurai this was written as a guide to Muasashi's strategy of single combat and his beliefs on his principles applicability to the command of armies. Considered by many to be along with Sun Tzu's The Art of War and Machiavelli's The Prince to be one of the three most influential strategy guides and applicable to many everyday situations in modern life. I found this to be an excellent translation of an interesting work by a fascinating samurai, who was in many ways very modern in outlook (win at all times, only engage in combat you know you can win). An interesting, straightforward read recommended to anyone with an interest in strategy, martial arts or Japanese history and culture.
