Typical Pullman - his touch is evident even in this children's tale. Although it's a simple story, the characters are fun to follow and each can identify a favourite character or one who resembles a real person. For instance, a slacker friend who shifts through courses the way Rambashi jumps through different careers. And it made me want to take up firework making.
