I thought I hated this book, but then I realized I just hated that the summary on the back cover spoiled every single plot twist in the book.

How many different companies sponsored this book with product placement? I think it's silly when books have to have things like "Croaka Cola" and stuff, but how many times did I need to read about Vitamin water and J Brand jeans. Also, this is the second book I've read where major characters listen to Avril Lavigne (Cynthia Lord's Rules is the other). Who actually listens to her, seriously?

The main character is a grossly stereotyped stoner Californian (complete with dreads), which was irritating because I couldn't tell if she was supposed to be so cliche on purpose, or if she was just shallowly created.

That said, I actually want to read the second book in this series, which bumps the overall rating up to three.
