Read from February 13 to April 12, 2012, read count: once
This book took an eon for me to read, but I learned quite a bit about geology. Fortey's writing is clear and, at times, poetic. I would have liked more photos and a glossary of terms would have been great since most of the geological and mineralogical vocabulary was foreign to me. At times, he seemed to assume the reader would know more than I in fact did.
