This was a fast, easy read - the key word being easy. It was enjoyable, and I flew through it in about 3 1/2 hours on a flight, but I couldn't help but feel it was written the way a child might write a novel. Very simple language, very obvious and intentional descriptors. And such an extraordinary series of experiences over the course of a few short hours during which the story takes place, that it's often difficult to believe it's not all a little exaggerated. But, at the end of it all, it's a sweet story with a happy ending. Simple and sweet. I actually think it's a great book to read to younger children.
