Knitters, read this book! I'm a knitter, as Stephanie Pearl-McPhee would say, not a Knitter (with a capital K). But no matter what level of knitting you're at, this book highlights the humorous quirks of a life that involves this crazy, addicting craft. If you have ever wondered if you are alone in picking projects to big for your eyes, the Green Afghan chapter will let you know you are in good company. If you are looking for creative ways to hide your stash, Steph's got that covered for you too. And just to emphasize how strange this art can be, I'll just let you know up front that at some point in the book, the author does battle with a wool-thieving grey squirrel (and loses... or does she?). She also weaves in the power of knitting. How comforting it is for those who do it, those who watch people do it ("what can possible be wrong if someone is sitting there quietly knitting?"), and those who receive those cozy, tangible objects of love that result. She reveals the good, bad and the ugly of knitting, uses terms I've never heard of, (and others that quite frankly scare me half to death), but even so, I decided I'm destined to be a Knitter when all I could think about during her hair raising chapter on steeking was, "Man, I've got to try that!"
