“The Sisters Brothers” follows Charlie and Eli Sisters as they go about the business of hired guns. It is the height of the Gold Rush and Eli the reflective one, narrates as the two brothers trek from Oregon to San Francisco to find their next unfortunate target. During the trek amongst myriad ironies and calamities, Eli begins to question the career they are in and where their lives are headed. Author Patrick DeWitt has written a story that has been described as a dark, touching, brutal, bright, caustic, comic, cowboy noir. In other words it is a heck of a good read! I highly recommend it!
