it was amazing

I am a hard core mystery writer/reader with a closet paranormal habit. I mention this to assert the fact that twist endings are my forte, and it takes a lot to shock me. But Leanore Elliott did just that in ‘Realm of Fire’, and did it very well indeed.

Elliott is a master of what I like to call the ‘two world interweave’. We’re glued to the suspense of the wild-fire scene her heroine is valiantly fighting, and then – we are ‘dropped’ into another realm, and given no more warning than the heroine herself.
This is where Elliott’s mastery is truly brilliant.

The problem with creating a book where characters slide between two worlds is that it is easy to either confuse the reader, or stall the story with explanation. Elliott has a light but competent hand in the explanation department. We are neither confused nor bored. We learn about the other-world as the heroine does. It unfolds in layers and it’s perfectly done.

The wild-fire opening is a feast of senses, and speaks to thorough research. The book’s finish will satisfy any romantic.
A perfectly lovely escape.
