Butcher's prose has become even cleaner and more evocative, the plot moves along crisply, and being - you know - doesn't stop Dresden from being Dresden, in all the best and worst ways. This book feels like Butcher has distilled the spirit of the series, what all the previous Dresden books were meant to be, and has brought it to life more precisely than ever.
