The Cruelest Month (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, #3)
by Louise Penny
by Louise Penny
When some of the villagers from the small village of Three Pines decide to hold a seance in "The Old Hadley House", it ends up in the death of one of the friends, which is declared a homicide when Chief Inspector Gamache and his team arrive on the scene. The motives in the case start to mirror Gamache's situtation in the Surete de Quebec where there are rival factions causing problems. This is the second Louise Penny book about Three Pines and Chief Inspector Gamache that I have read and I am now searching for more. This Quebec author writes great mysteries with intriguing and well rounded characters, with always a bit of humour thrown in just when you least expect it and I find myself laughing out loud.
