Origin in Death (In Death, #21)

This is the first Eve Dallas novel I read; I got it used, on impulse, as "an airplane book." I was actually GLAD when the flight was delayed. It gave me time to finish. This is not deep world literature, it is brain candy with a streak of romance that borders on erotica. The science fiction is a bit unrealistic. But I love these books anyway. Eve is a fascinating character with a wonderful snarky internal voice.
I was very aware, though, that I was coming in in the midst of a longer story. The Dallas books have a definite overall story arc. You will not understand some events (and some suspense in the earlier books will be spoiled) if you start here rather than book 1.
