liked it

I enjoyed this book even more the second time around. I think that E.B. White was cleverly inserting subtle sarcasm for the benefit of the adult who may be reading aloud to the child. He wittily creates characters that adults and children alike can relate to. Tiny Trumpeter Swan cygnet, Louis, is born without a voice, which is devastating for a Trumpeter Swan. His gallant Father, in desperate need to help his son, steals a trumpet, inadvertently sending Louis off on some wild adventures. Honor, loyalty and love abound in this sweet, beguiling story.
