A hot little dynamite number that got me all excited about writing again. Reed takes a traditional sort of thriller plot about a disease epidemic and a lost manuscript and pastes collage, anachronism and a critique of race relations in America to make something engaging. I had a great time. Postmodern but sincere and short but complicated. A fabulous secret history of America.
