really liked it

set in the the 1980's, Travel writer Thomas Nesbitt travels to Berlin to spend a year researching his new book, moving in with a drug addict artist.
He meets and falls in love with Petra, and starts a wonderful and whirlwind romance.
Although she is from East Berlin and has suffered terribly, they plan a life in New York, and are amazingly happy.
Things soon take a twist and problems arise!

I'll say no more than to say that this is an eye opening, thought provoking and emotionally charged book, which shows that the rules just dont apply everywhere, and we cannot imagine the lengths that some people are pushed in order to survive.

Would highly recommend this brilliantly written book.
