really liked it
bookshelves: adult, fantasy
Read from September 09 to 13, 2011

After the last installment in this series had me wondering why I bother, this was a return to form.

Sookie once again gets sucked into the world of the supernatural. The political worlds of both the Weres and the Vampires vie for her attention here. The ramifications from the previous book in the series come to fruition here, as the blood bond between Eric and Sookie vex her, the Queen of Louisiana finds herself in a very weakened position, and Sookie's beaux Quinn goes missing.

This book also made me look forward to future installments for the first time in a while as changes in personnel as well as some revelations about Sookie's own family heritage make for an interesting setup for following books. The return to some of the plot elements from the fourth book in which Eric loses his memory also helped in my enjoyment.
