I read this book as an experiment... after getting heavily into the Song of Fire and Ice series, I thought maybe I do like fantasy after all. After reading The Blade Itself, I'm not so sure. This is not to say it's not a good book- I was entertained and could appreciate the sarcastic humor especially - but I don't know that I feel a burning desire to find out what happens next. If I do continue, it will be mostly to follow Ferro's story - I thought the book really picked up and became more intriguing at her introduction - but overall, this will probably have to be a library book when I run out of something to read. Too many books, too little time - I'm back to historical fiction for the most part.
