bookshelves: memoirs-essays-a-bio-here-and-there

Kathy Griffin's memoir is very entertaining- even the index has snarky one-liners hidden within. That being said, I didn't actually buy the book, I requested it from my library because 1) my taxes have to benefit me in some fashion and 2) it just isn't the kind of book I'll reread again and again. However, I definitely got a kick out of this read, especially the emails between her and Woz and the inside stories of her experiences over the years with various comedians. With some memoirs, I find I've already heard or read the juicy parts prior to the book's release, but Kathy shares some new perspectives that I hadn't heard and I appreciate her point of view. If you don't like her, don't read this. I remember watching her on the red carpet informing celebs of Dakota Fanning's "rehab check-in" and laughing at the obvious farce but there are definitely times when I'm not in a Kathy Griffin mood, so... The one thing I definitely came away with is a hearty respect for her work ethic and tenacity, but I have to say I wish she would get a stylist (or some of her gays) to help her dress better for her live performances, I see alot of poly-blends...
